EDUCA in English - The BESS Survey

In the latest episode of the EDUCA DPS podcast, we dive into the Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) with Megan Miccio, a school social worker from Thomas Jefferson High School, and Perla Murillo, a school social worker at Montbello Middle School. This universal screening tool, which is implemented twice a year in all DPS-managed schools, helps identify students’ behavioral and emotional strengths and areas where additional support may be needed. 

Megan and Perla share how BESS data guides interventions, fosters meaningful connections and supports the DPS value of Students First. They also discuss the vital roles families play in the screening process.
