EDUCA DPS Podcast in English: Welcoming Newcomer Students
In this week's EDUCA DPS Podcast, members of the Multilingual Education Department, Allison Ratchford and Sary Portillo, discuss the remarkable impact of their efforts in supporting our new-to-country students. Our MLE Department works directly with students, families and educators to ensure that Multilingual Learners (MLLs) receive an equitable, high-quality education.
This year, DPS has welcomed nearly 5,000 newly arrived MLL students, a significant increase from the yearly average of 500. Not only are resources being provided to our students and families, but the MLE Department also offers instructional support to schools that are welcoming new arrival students.
